Where it all began

Originally named the Chinchilla War Memorial Swimming Pool, the Chinchilla Aquatic and Fitness Centre was officially opened on Saturday 13 October 1962 by the Hon. A.R.Fletcher M.L.A, Minister at the time for Lands and Irrigation.

The way the Chinchilla community uses it's pools may have changed over the past six or seven decades - but the community's involvement with the aquatic centre is still just as important today as it always has been.
