During May and June 2021, Council engaged with key stakeholders in Miles to develop the Dogwood Creek Recreation Masterplan: a collaborative vision where the community identified what's important, what is valued, and what should be considered for this important space.
In November 2023, these stakeholders were invited back to revise and update this masterplan and create draft concept designs that reflect the growing needs of the Miles community.
Council sought feedback from the broader Miles community on Dogwood Creek — specifically, draft concept plans created for Chinaman's Lagoon, the Historic Cemetery and Moraby Park (north and south of the Warrego Highway). This stage has now closed and a draft detailed design is being finalised.

the plans look to me like they are very nice for travelling people to stop at, there does not appear to be any improvements for families living in Miles wanting activities for their children. Chinimans Lagoon or Moraby Park surely have room for a water playground, and or childrens playgrounds??

Day use area upgraded with kerbed driveway and parking areas (sealed), amenities building, new tourist information shelter, shaded picnic and BBQ areas, and a timber viewing deck in the lagoon.
