Background

Council is thrilled to share the detailed design for the Dogwood Creek Recreation masterplan at Miles. The new plan has been added into Council's 20-year capital project plan.

We'd like to thank everyone in the Miles community who has shared their vision, ideas and feedback since mid-2021, when Council engaged with key stakeholders to develop the Dogwood Creek Recreation Masterplan.

From the onset, this masterplan has been a collaborative vision where the community identified what's important, what is valued, and what should be considered for this important space.

In November 2023, these stakeholders were invited back to revise and update this masterplan and create draft concept designs that reflect the growing needs of the Miles community.

Council sought feedback from the broader Miles community on Dogwood Creek — specifically, draft concept plans created for Chinaman's Lagoon, the Historic Cemetery and Moraby Park (north and south of the Warrego Highway). This stage has now closed and the detailed design is now finalised.
