Background

Charley’s Creek offers locals and visitors a creek-side walk surrounded by the local birds and vegetation. The walk extends under both the Railway and Highway bridges and ends in the park at Mutch Street, which is utilised weekly by Parkrun participants. Current facilities onsite include toilets, a sheltered barbeque area, picnic facilities and play equipment.

We have undertaken community engagement to understand what's important about Charley's Creek, what you value in your community spaces, and what should be considered for the new masterplan.

Where We Are Now

Following in-person and online engagement with the Chinchilla community, we gathered insights into the unique opportunities associated with Charley's Creek and developed a Draft Sketch Masterplan — discussed in the community workshop in November.

A Draft Masterplan was then developed, incorporating the feedback from the secondary round of community engagement, and we asked the community to provide feedback one last time before the plan is finalised. This final round of engagement has now closed.

Provide your feedback on the draft Charley's Creek Masterplan

Feedback will be considered before the finalisation of the masterplan.

Next Steps

After carefully considering the feedback provided in the final round of community engagement, our team of experts will make any necessary amendments and finalise the Masterplan for Chinchilla's Chrley's Creek, producing shovel-ready plans for when funding can be allocated.
