Revised Flood Study: Wandoan

We're inviting our Wandoan residents to review the existing flood study reports and share your valuable knowledge to make sure the new models match what really happens during flooding events.

Your input will help improve the accuracy of our flood modelling and maps - so please share rainfall records, experiences and photos of historic flood events.

We're looking for as much information as we can gather from the Wandoan community around any flooding events since 2014, which will be used as calibration events for the improved flood maps.

We'll also be combining your feedback with data from the Juandah Creek flood gauge at Windermere from 1973 through to present day.

Council is revising the Wandoan Flood Study to provide better understanding of flood behaviour throughout the Juandah Creek catchment, improve flood management and disaster response, determine the risk of rare flooding events, and provide up-to-date information for infrastructure planning and land use.

The project is fully funded by the Australian and Queensland governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
